Transparency Act

BMG AS works systematically to safeguard human rights and decent working conditions in its own operations and in its supply chains.

The work is based on the OECD’s guidelines and is carried out through due diligence assessments, follow-up, and open reporting.

Statement under the Transparency Act

Regarding the statement

This statement describes how BMG AS, including subsidiaries, works to safeguard fundamental human rights and decent working conditions within its own operations and in our supply chains.

The Transparency Act should:

  • Promote respect for human rights and good working conditions
  • Ensure transparency regarding how businesses manage risks associated with this.

The work is based on the OECD Guidelines for Responsible Business Conduct and relevant international conventions from the UN and the ILO.

Anchoring and responsibility

Work on the Transparency Act is anchored in the group's management and board. The Group CEO has operational responsibility, with support from the quality and HSE function. BMG AS has a clear goal of responsible, ethical and transparent operations.

Ethical guidelines and a Code of Conduct were established in 2020 and form the basis of our work.

 

Risk assessments

BMG AS carried out its first comprehensive due diligence assessment in 2024–2025 in accordance with the OECD's six-step model. The work includes:

  • Mapping of own business and supply chains
  • Human rights and working conditions risk assessment
  • Preventative and corrective measures
  • Follow-up through internal control and audits
  • Open communication and management of any breaches

Particular focus has been directed towards:

  • Temporary staff and recruitment agencies
  • Suppliers and other partners with elevated risk

Identified risk areas

Internal

  • Risk of high workload and working time challenges
  • Language and training barriers for hired personnel

In supply chains:

  • Risks associated with trade union rights
  • Inadequate documentation of employment conditions with certain suppliers

Measures and follow-up

BMG AS has, among other things, implemented the following measures:

  • Supplier approval and regular follow-up
  • Health and Safety and Rights Training for Agency Workers
  • Contractual requirements related to ILO conventions and ISO 45001
  • Systematic internal control and internal audits
